Prof. Dr. Panagiotis Drakopoulos MD, PhD graduated with an excellent grade from the Faculty of Medicine (University of Athens). He completed his residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics (FMH degree) in the University Hospital of Geneva, Switzerland. He earned a Master degree (MSc) in reproductive medicine and a university diploma of statistics in clinical research from the University of Geneva.
He performed his subspecialty in reproductive medicine at the Center for reproductive medicine (CRG), UZ Brussel, Belgium. He is recognized as a subspecialist in reproductive medicine and surgery by ESHRE (European society of Human Reproduction and Embryology) and EBCOG (European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynecology). He holds a Ph.D. in reproductive medicine from the University of Brussels (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) and he is a visiting Professor at the University since 2019. In 2021, he became Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Alexandria (Egypt).
In September 2023, he was appointed Assistant Professor and coordinator of Obstetrics and Gynecology at School of Medicine, European University of Cyprus
Prof. Dr. Drakopoulos has authored more than 90 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals and is a guest speaker at several international IVF conferences on an annual basis. He contributes as a reviewer to the most important journals in the field of infertility (Lancet, Human Reproduction update, Human reproduction, Fertility and Sterility, Reproductive biomedicine Online etc.).
His research focuses mainly on reproductive endocrinology and strategies for improving the outcome of patients with low prognosis (poor responders in IVF).
He remains an official clinical and scientific collaborator of the Center for Reproductive Medicine of University of Brussels (UZ Brussel)He works in private, and his medical office is found in Athens, Greece. He collaborates with two prominent IVF centers in Greece: Institute of Life (Athens) and Embryolab Fertility Clinic (Thessaloniki)
