Sperm donation is the process by which a man donates his sperm to help an individual or a couple have a child.
The sperm donor, who remains anonymous, must be examined before the procedure for any diseases or risk factors, based on the relevant legal framework. In addition, a man who is considering becoming a sperm donor should be aware that this procedure does not pose any risk to his health.
The donation is made to the sperm bank after the necessary preparation instructions are given. The sample is then frozen and in the following months, all the prescribed tests of the donor are performed. If the results are negative, the sample is thawed and the man can eventually be selected as the sperm donor.
